Iranian Wedding Party 1972

The Iranian Wedding Party was created in 2009 as my graduate thesis from San Francisco Art Institute. Using a wedding album from 1972, I rendered the new wedding portrait on a 12 ft x 6 ft wood panel with watercolor and screen prints. The bride’s oral history on the party members was vital in helping me restructure the wedding party to tell its story of memory, loss, comedy and celebration. It was exhibited at the SFAI Vernissage 2009.
